Gender Identity Support Group - GISG (pronounced "gig"), is a non-profit organisation for people who have issues with their gender identity, their families and supporters.
GISG was formed in 2003, to assist the transsexual community in Victoria. It is run by trans people for trans people and we provide social support for people with Gender Identity Disorder.
GISG is a confidential organisation relying on donations and membership for funds. We provide information on aspects of gender reassignment.
Membership is available to anyone who has changed their gender role, who intend to change their gender role, or their family and supporters.
Meetings and social events are regularly held at locations around Melbourne and Victoria so as to be accessible to not just city people but those living in more remote locations.

GISG is the social arm of the Melbourne Gender Centre
